Study Abroad:71 UK Universities are offering 210 Scholarships to Students across 15 countries, including India

2024-2025 is an academic year for students aspiring to study abroad in the United Kingdom. GREAT Scholarships are mainly aimed at individuals looking to pursue their postgraduate studies in the UK. This academic year, 71 UK Universities are offering 210 scholarships to students across 15 countries, including India.

This year, 25 UK universities provide 26 postgraduate GREAT scholarships to Indian students.

Eligible candidates for GREAT Scholarships from countries like India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Turkey, among other countries, can apply for this very scholarship with the chosen postgraduate programme, commencing in September. Each scholarship is worth a minimum of £ 10,000 towards the tuition fees for a one-year postgraduate course.

The GREAT Scholarships 2024-2025

Scholarships under the GREAT Scholarships are jointly funded by the UK government’s GREAT Britain Campaign and the British Council with participating UK Higher education Institutes. The GREAT Britain Campaign is the UK government’s initiative that helps bridge India and the UK through higher education opportunities. It helped facilitate job generation and enables growth and learning among international visitors, students, traders, investors, residents, and professionals.

The Relevance of GREAT Scholarship for Indian Students planning to study in the UK

The minimum value of each GREAT Scholarship is £ 10,000, allocated towards the tuition fees for one-year postgraduate courses in the UK from Autumn 2024. Moreover, the scholarship programme 2024 includes two scholarships specifically tailored for only Indian students pursuing Justice and Law Studies in collaboration with the Ministry for Justice. Furthermore, Four Science and Technology scholarships are available across 4 UK Universities for Indian Students in the academic year of 2024-2025.

The GREAT Scholarships offer international students, including those from India, the opportunity to undertake postgraduate studies in the UK. In the academic year 2024 to 2025, 25 universities in the UK will be providing 26 postgraduate GREAT Scholarships to Indian students only across disciplines like finance, marketing, business, humanities, and more.

Eligibility Criterion

Although the criterion differs from institution to institution, the basic requirements remain the same. The commonalities are that the students should have an Indian passport to prove their permanent residence and have an undergraduate degree to prove their education. The students should meet the English language and academic requirements of the UK University they are applying to. Note that every Universities in the UK have set different eligibility criteria. In addition to that, students must have received an entry offer from one of the participating universities.
