Campus Locations

Casuarina campus

The state-of-the-art Casuarina campus is located only 14kms from the city centre, and specializes in Science, Engineering, and Health. The campus also features pharmacy laboratories, a library and student accommodation. 

It is close to all public transport, and located close to the beach, near Darwin’s largest shopping district.

Waterfront Campus, Darwin

The Waterfront campus is located in the Darwin CBD and brings in over 600 students a day, with numbers expected to grow over the coming years, together with the development of a new CDU Business School.

Palmerston Campus

The Palmerston campus is located 20kms from Darwin city centre. The campus has modern facilities, including a bakery, a bar, training kitchen, a commercial training restaurant, and a state-of-the-art library.

The campus also comprises of a man-made lake, which brings an abundance of wildlife to the campus, creating a serene, relaxed campus atmosphere.

The campus offers several VET Business units which include:

  • Culinary Arts, including Cookery, Bakery and Butchery

  • Children’s Services and Education Support.

The Palmerston campus also has a few Vet short courses on:

The campus also additionally houses three VET business which are open to the public:

  • Karawa training restaurant
  • Hairdressing training salon
  • Beauty training salon

Alice Springs Campus

The Alice Springs campus is a multi- sector campus, inclusive of a library with an electronic learning resource centre, and several facilities for tourism and hospitality students. It has an 85-seat lecture theatre, clinical training laboratory for Nursing and Science Laboratory, Specialized IT classrooms, and is a key hub for education for remote communities in central Australia.

Charles Darwin University – Katherine

Students in Katherine are supported by a range of CDU courses, through local administrative support, and visiting lecturers at two CDU sites, Katherine campus and Katherine town centre.

The Sydney campus has impressive learning and teaching facilities, with small class sizes. The campus is located close to all public transport, cafes, restaurants, and shopping precincts.

Jabiru Centre

The Jabiru Centre is located in the world-heritage Kakadu National Park and provides VET training for Jahiru residents and residents in Arnhem Land and Kakadu.

Subjects that are offered at the Jabiru centre include conservation and land management, IT, Community services, Business Horticulture, and General Education.

Tennant Creek centre

The CDU Tennant Creek centre offers short courses and long courses in trades and vocation education and training (VET), in conjunction with the Alice Springs Campus.

Student services

  • Academic Language and Learning Success Program

    The Academic Language and Learning Success program (ALLSP) offers free workshops for students to help develop their academic and study skills for free, in both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

    CDU has an international support team that helps international students make the best of their time and experience at the University by providing assistance in areas such as:

    • Any other issues relevant to your studies
  • Counselling –   All students at CDU can register for free counselling sessions, through phone, face-to-face or the CDU after-hours crisis hotline.
  • Disability Services – the Disability Liaison office at CDU is there to help you with any temporary, permanent physical or sensory disability, learning disability, medical illness or any other psychological condition that may be impacting your ability to access and participate in normal study or other activities at CDU.

Accomodation – On Campus

  • International House Darwin, Casuarina campus

    The International House Darwin (IHD) on the Casuarina campus provides both Long term and Short term stays for students. It has standard, fully furnished accommodation with ensuites bathrooms. The accommodation facility also have other amenities like a computer lab, study rooms, recreation areas and a swimming pool.

  • Alice Springs Student Accommodation

    The Alice springs student accommodation provides housing for CDU students, as well as students taking placements from other Universities, visiting guests and CDU staff. The Alice Springs accommodation offers single share accommodation and twin share, across two houses. The accommodation also includes shared communal areas like the kitchen and laundry facilities. All residents would also have access to WIFI.

  • Katherine Student Accommodation – Katherine campus

    The Katherine Student accommodation offers two types of accommodation packages; single room options with meals and single rooms without meals.
    The Accommodation also includes other facilities like:
