The University of Canberra (UC) is a public University located in Canberra, ACT. UC offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses for both domestic and international students across five faculties; Art and Design, Health, Business, Government and Law, Technology and Education and Science.

Campus Locations

  • Bruce Campus 

    The main Canberra campus is located in the suburb of BRUCE, nestled amongst a haven of native trees and wildlife, close to the CBD. The campus is located conveniently only minutes from cafes, restaurants, shopping, markets and events.

    It is within walking distance to the in-house student accommodation facilities, medical and counselling centre, Australian Institute of Sports, Belconnen shopping mall and the Calvary Public Hospital.

    The University has a variety of facilities for students, with state-of-the-art technology enabled teaching and learning spaces, including specialist science, health, art and design laboratories, research facilities, health clubs, library, and sporting and recreational facilities; offering a vibrant campus life.

    In addition to the Bruce Campus, UC offers several courses in collaboration with education institutes across Sydney, Melbourne, Queensland, as well as internationally, in Hong Kong, China, Vietnam, India and Bhutan.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

  • CHIEF MINISTER'S UNIVERSITY OF CANBERRA INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP

    This scholarship is awarded to International students pursuing an undergraduate or master degree and pursuing studies in ICT (Information Technology, Software Engineering, and Engineering).

    The total value of the scholarship is $10,000.

    Eligibility Criteria

    • You must hold citizenship from one of the following countries: India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Philippines or Latin America
    • You must be enrolled to study a full-time Bachelor or Master course at UC, Bruce campus

    *Articulation and sponsored students are not eligible
    *Diplomatic students are not eligible

  • UC/GBCA Scholarship

    This scholarship is awarded to any International student pursuing a UC course in Melbourne. The scholarship is valued at 25% off the total tuition fee.

  • Gems international partner scholarship

    The scholarship is awarded to all international students from Global Education Management Systems (GEMS), applying to pursue a Bachelor degree by coursework at UC. The value of the scholarship is 15% off the total tuition fee.

    Eligibility Criteria

    • GEMS students
    • Commencing a full-time bachelor’s degree by coursework at UC, Bruce Campus only
    • GPA 5 / 7

  • International Merit Scholarship

    This scholarship is offered to all international students pursuing a Bachelor or Master by Coursework at UC. The value of the scholarship is 10% of the total tuition fee.

    Eligibility Criteria

    • Any citizenship can apply
    • Commencing a full-time bachelor or master degree by coursework, at UC Bruce campus
    • GPA 5/7
    • Must achieve 70% or higher for undergraduate
    • Must achieve 65% or higher for Master

Accomodation

All UC students (Domestic and International) are provide with guaranteed accommodation on and off campus, with over 2500 beds available each year. Accommodation options range from private studio apartments to individual bedrooms in multi share apartments.

UC has tied up with several Uni Lodges to provide accommodation for its students.

  • UC Lodge

    UC lodge has 353 apartments, all furnished with beds, television, bookshelf, study desk and chair. All apartments also include a kitchenette with stovetops and microwaves and bathrooms. Every room as opening windows, as well as heaters and fans. Each floor has study rooms, inclusive of an HDMI tv for presentations.

    The room types at UC lodge include:

  • Cooper Lodge

    Cooper lodge has 296 apartments, all furnished with beds, television, bookshelf, study desk and chair. All apartments also include a kitchenette with stovetops, microwaves and bathrooms. Every room as opening windows, as well as heaters and fans. Each floor has study rooms, inclusive of an HDMI tv for presentations.

    The apartments also feature a piano room, and houses 3 cafes, a supermarket and a student bar underneath the lodge.

    Cooper lodge offers several room types including:

    • 1-bedroom apartments

  • Weeden Lodge

    Weeden lodge is located in proximity to Westfield and bus interchange and was initially built as government offices in the 1970s and has been renovated for student accommodation in 2012. It has 174 apartments in the South Wing and 135 apartments in the North Wing. All apartments are furnished with beds, television, bookshelf, study desk and chair. All apartments also include a kitchenette with stovetops, microwaves and bathrooms.

    The North wing contains a full-size kitchen on every floor, with small stove tops in each room. All apartments have central heating and air conditioning. Most rooms also feature a full height fixed glazing, with views of the heritage courtyard.

    The Weeden Lodge offers several room types, including:

  • Campus West

    Campus west is part of the University of Canberra student village and provides a mix of modern and heritage student accommodation facilities. All bedrooms are furnished with a bed, study desk and chair. All apartments also include a kitchen. All apartments also include internet connectivity, study lounges, and quiet study spaces.

    The Apartments are also fitted with pool tables, table tennis, and magazines. All residents have access to paid parking, and access to University parking lots.
