The Institute is formed with the contribution of more than 20 historical entities.

Campus Location

Ballarat Campus (Aquinas) is 125km west of Melbourne. The campus is right in the town of Ballarat, located between Lake Wendouree and the commercial centre of the town. Once there, you can find yourself surrounded by cafes, restaurants and outdoor experiences. Some of the courses offered to international students at the Ballarat campus are: Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary), Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Physiotherapy etc.

Blacktown Campus includes Programs such as Undergraduate/Postgraduate and Pathways. ACU Blacktown is located right in the centre of Greater Western Sydney and is home to innumerable high school students, university students and businesses. Courses offered at Blacktown include: Arts, Health Sciences, Law and Business, Theology and Philosophy etc.

Brisbane Campus- McAuley Campus is located in Queensland. It is 12km north of the city centre. Queensland's popular beaches are very easy to reach from here. Brisbane has an excellent network of bike paths for cyclists, which makes travelling easy. Besides public transport, there is also a provision of ACU shuttle bus service. There are other facilities at the Campus such as: Medical centre, Venue hire, Gym, and Library etc. Courses offered: English for Academic, Accounting and Finance, Arts, Biomedical Science, Business Administration, Commerce, Creative Arts, Early Childhood Education, Exercise and Sports, Law, Nursing, Occupational Therapy etc.

Canberra Campus (Signadou Campus) is in Watson, 5km from Canberra's central business district. The place thrives with shops, galleries, cafes etc. It is connected with a good network of bus and bike paths, but is more popular as the cycling capital of Australia.Courses offered - undergraduate/postgraduate such as in the fields of Early Education, Nursing, and Social work etc.

Melbourne - St Patrick's Campus of ACU is right in the middle of Melbourne. The campus is surrounded by cafes, shops and nightlife of Brunswick and Smith Streets, as also by some of the best parks of the city. Along with the regular courses, the Campus also offers courses in Biomedical Science, Psychological Science, Nutrition Science, Visual Arts and Design etc.As the Campus is based in Fitzroy, it is well-connected by trains, trams and buses. It also has bike pathways and walking routes to the campus.

North Sydney - MacKillop Campus lies in the suburb of North Sydney. To access the place, one requires just a 5 minutes train ride over the popular Sydney Harbour Bridge from Sydney city centre. The Campus is located in the North Sydney business precinct. One can either walk or travel by train, bus or cycle. Once on the campus, the students enjoy free social groups or can avail of numerous campus facilities, including outdoor café areas. Some of the courses offered at this campus are: English for Academic Purposes, Accounting and Finance, Biomedical Science, Business Administration, IT, Commerce, Law, Nursing, Nutrition Science etc.

Rome Campus is a collaboration between ACU and the Catholic University of America. The campus is situated on Janiculum Hill, which is 2km from Vatican City. One can take a Taxi from the airport (there are 2 airports), or even travel by buses, or trains, which are more affordable and very fast.

Strathfield - Mount Saint Mary Campus has a convenient network of public transport for students travelling from the Blue Mountains and Central Coast. Besides regular courses, the campus also offer courses in Disability Studies, Physical Activity, Visual Arts & Design etc. At Mount Saint Mary Campus, students can avail of clubs, societies and can actively participate in events as there are many student associations for them. There are also sporting groups for rugby, soccer and cricket pitches.

Scholarships

Currently closed (June 2020). However, some of the scholarships offered by ACU are stated under:

  • ACU International Scholarship: ACU bestows a scholarship to meritorious international students as a reward, at the time of commencing undergraduate and postgraduate studies. The scholarship covers half of the full fees, for the duration of the course.
  • Global Excellence Scholarship: This provides a tuition-fee waiver up to an extent of $2,500 each semester to commencing students - undergraduate as well as postgraduate.
  • Allianz Global Assistance Scholarship: This provides for a partial tuition fee waiver up to $7500, for one undergraduate (commencing) and one postgraduate student.

Student Services

Student Support at ACU:

  • ACU has an ‘Academic Skills Unit' for International students at each of its campuses. The Skills Units assists international students in various ways, such as: Study skills, Academic writing skills, Academic reference skills, Maths and numeracy skills and Exam skills.
  • PASS (for extra-help to students): This is a free, voluntary, academic support program to help students in small-groups on a weekly-basis. The program is peer-led study seccion, specifically for first-year units. The program is run by senior students who have already completed the subjects.
  • English language programs forentry to the University,are held at Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane campuses of ACU.
  • Disability services, are offeredfor free, to students arising from a disability; there is an advisor at each campus to offer help. However, students are advised to inform before arrival.
  • Career development and employment service advisorshelp studentsto make choces and searching for employment, preparing for applications etc.

Accommodation

There are a number of servicesto help international students such as Rental Advisory Service. Accommodation Types include Multi-share apartments, Studio apartments, Premium apartments etc. Other than these, one can stay in homestay or choose a more independent renting option.

There is also a Scheme known as The National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS or the Scheme), which is a long-term commitment scheme, run by the Australian Government in partnership with the States and Territories for safe rental housing.

At Ballarat accommodation, one can find off-campus independence with support from Residential Services offered by ACU.

One can find Managed residences at Canberra campus that include private, fully furnished houses, with free laundry facilities, and also are inclose proximity to the campus.

The Miguel Cordero Residence at the Sydney Campus, includes almost everything for students; shops, cinemas and cafes. It is also very close to Strathfieds and North Sydney campuses. The MCRlies in Camperdown in Sydney's west and has a full range of free social, academic, spiritual and cultural events every month. The Camperdown Oval is just opposite MCR, therefore students can have an easy access to sports.

Students can always opt for Homestays to enjoy family life, wherein, they get a comfortable home, furniture, utilities and also some meals. However, furniture, utilities (water, electricity, gas) and food are usually not included in rental fees. It is advisable to contact real estate agents before hiring a home.
