Eligibility Criteria for the International Excellence Scholarship (Information Technology and Computer Science)
  • Be eligible to study in a program at the University of Newcastle and have received an Offer Letter.
  • Be an International full-fee paying student.
  • Not be benefitting from a separate University Scholarship without prior approval.

The following recipients are not eligible for the scholarship

  • Students, who have not received an offer for the Scholarship.
  • Internal transfer students who are studying at an Australian or online campus and were not previously awarded the Scholarship.
Required documents
  • The Scholarship is automatically awarded to students who have received an offer letter to enrol in an eligible program to study at the University Of Newcastle, Australia.
  • No separate document is required to be eligible for this particular Scholarship.
Conditions of Award
  • The scholarship amount covers tuition fee waiver and does not cover the cost of visas, accommodation, travel, living expenses and other expenses associated with studying at the University.
  • The Scholarship is payable for the amount of units specified in the program enrolled. This excludes units that have been awarded as credit after the commencement of the program of study.
  • The recipient must maintain international student status for the duration of their study at the University.
Benefits of International Excellence Scholarship (Information Technology and Computer Science)
  • The value of the International Excellence Scholarship (Information Technology and Computer Science) is 15,000 AUD for a period of your study program.
  • The scholarship value covers tuition fees partially for each year of study under a full-time study program.
  • The scholarship amount equates to 1875 AUD per 10 units of study.
  • The scholarship benefit is applied directly to the university tuition fees as a reduction in fees against the amount of credits mentioned in the Letter of Offer.

  • There is no separate application required for the International Excellence Scholarship (IT and Computer Science).
  • The scholarship is automatically applied upon University application only if eligibility Criteria are met.
  • However, as the Scholarship is merit-based, the University determines the procedure for calculating ATAR and GPA.
  • Students Eligible for this Scholarship will receive notification of the value of their Scholarship in their Letter of Offer.
  • The University reserves the right not to award the Scholarship.

Condition of Termination

The Scholarship shall terminate before its due date if the student

  • Relinquishes the Scholarship
