First-Year Global Wildcat Award

This merit-based scholarship is available to first-year students. The amount of the award is determined by your grade point average (GPA), which is calculated during the admission process by converting your grading system to the US GPA system. The table below shows the range of scholarship amounts offered through the First-Year Global Wildcat Award.

Transfer Student Global Wildcat Award

Transfer students are defined as students who have earned 12 or more transferable units from an accredited institution in the U.S. or abroad. The amount of the award is based on your grade point average (GPA) that is calculated during the admission process.

If you are coming from a non-U.S. institution, your GPA is calculated by converting your grading system to the U.S. GPA grading system. The table included here gives you a range of scholarship amounts provided by the Transfer Global Wildcat Award.

International Service & Leadership Scholarship

The International Service and Leadership Scholarship honors first-year international students starting in the Fall semester who have made significant contributions to their local communities and schools prior to joining the University of Arizona.

To qualify for the International Service and Leadership Scholarship, students must:

  • Be offered admission as a first year international student in the Fall term.

Prepare two documents for submission:

  • Essay Prompt: Share what you expect to gain from a University of Arizona degree and how it supports your future career (300 – 500 words).
  • Resume: Include a resume or curriculum vitae (CV) that outlines your work, volunteer and involvement experiences in your community and school
  • Be willing to contribute to International Admissions during their first year of study

Award amounts are valued up to $5,000 USD and are non-renewable. Applicants will be scored on:

  • Essay strength and ability to respond to the prompt
  • Service and leadership involvement outlined on one's resume
  • Engagement with the University of Arizona (campus visits, participation in events, 1:1 meetings with the International Admissions staff, etc.)

Scholarship applicants are reviewed following the priority deadline of December 1. Applications received after December 1 will be reviewed during the final deadline of February 1.
