Each year, a limited number of non-resident tuition fee waivers are available to undergraduate international students (F-1 visa holders) on a competitive basis - these waivers are provided through CSUEB's Global Scholarships.
Global Excellence ScholarshipsA limited number of full non-resident tuition waiver awards (over $12,500 per year) for incoming Cal State East Bay first-year freshmen students who:
- Are in F-1 status or plan to get an F-1 visa
- Apply to and enroll at Cal State East Bay as a first-time freshman for Fall 2024
- Have a minimum 3.3 grade of point average
- Display exceptional scholastic ability and prior academic achievement (determined by high school record, standardized tests (SAT/ACT or AP), and essay)
- Demonstrate Financial Need
- Commit to enrolling in 15 units per semester
Duration of Award
This scholarship is granted on an academic year basis (fall and spring semesters) and is renewable for up to four years total. Recipients are required to maintain an eligible GPA and enrollment requirements to continue receiving the award in the second semester and beyond.
Global Honors ScholarshipsA limited number of non-renewable awards of $2,500+ for one year of study at Cal State East Bay for undergraduate students (first time freshman, transfer students and continuing international students) who:
- Are in F-1 status or plan to get an F-1 visa
- Apply to and/or enroll at Cal State East Bay as an undergraduate student for Fall 2024
- Have a minimum 3.3 grade point average
- Have completed fewer than 75 semester units at the time of application
- Commit to enrolling in 15 units per semester while receiving the scholarship
- Demonstrate Financial Need
This scholarship is granted for one academic year (fall and spring semesters). Recipients are required to maintain an eligible GPA and enrollment requirements to continue receiving the award in the second semester. Recipients may re-apply each year to continue receiving the award as long as they continue to meet eligibility. Since waivers are granted on a competitive basis, a recipient is not guaranteed to receive the award beyond the initial award year.
