Biomedical engineers are responsible for developing engineering solutions to help solve medical problems. The course will produce high-quality biomedical engineering graduates with technical, professional and employability skills for the allied health industry.

Our degree will enable you to be part of exciting product developments including robots to help the disabled walk, advanced prosthetics, machines for complex treatments, diagnostic equipment and artificial organs. You can also get involved in smart technologies and apply them to transmit data directly to clinics, minimising the need for patient travel. Emergency situations can also be caught early and prevent a decline in patient health. Biomedical engineering is a dynamic and exciting area of growth and innovation, and one which will develop rapidly in the coming years.

The course is designed based on CDIO (Conceive Design Implement Operate) methodology where students will interact with industry from first year through industry-oriented, real time projects.

Each engineering programme learning outcome is based on Engineering Council AHEP 4.0 standards.
