In Singapore, there is greater flexibility for foreign students in university to earn some pocket money while studying. Foreign students are allowed to work in Singapore during term time or vacation time if they are granted Work Pass exemption under the Employment of Foreign Manpower (Work Pass Exemptions) Notification. You are allowed to engage in part-time employment more than 16 hours per week. You need to seek permission from your sponsors if you are on scholarships. There is no cap during your university vacation on the number of hours a foreign university student can work.

The main features of Singapore climate are relatively uniform temperature, high humidity and abundant rainfall due to the maritime exposure of the island and its close proximity to the equator. Rain, falling all year round, is the most abundant from November, the end of the inter-monsoon to January, the first half of the Northeast Monsoon. The annual rainfall is 2352 mm. Thunderstorms are frequent during the inter-monsoon months of April-May and October-November. February is usually the sunniest month. |
